Through keynote lectures and technical sessions, the International Symposium on Drought and Climate Change aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of drought and climate change.
The official language of the symposium is English.
This online symposium is co-organized by Hohai University (China) and the Institute of Geophysics Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland).
The symposium will be held online on November 24 and 25, 2022, from 9:00 to 14:30 CET (16:00-21:30 Beijing time), via Zoom.

Call for Abstracts
Prospective authors are kindly encouraged to contribute to the symposium through submissions of extended abstracts (max 4 pages) by September 30.
We encourage high-quality contributions, describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, and theoretical work in the areas of drought and climate change.
In particular, contributions addressing the following topics are welcome:

▪ Roles of evapotranspiration in drought development
▪ Soil moisture drought
▪ Ecological drought
▪ Drought propagation
▪ Compound drought and heatwave events
▪ Land-atmosphere interaction mechanisms
▪ Drought Monitoring and Modeling
▪ Human effects on drought development
▪ Drought prediction and uncertainty analysis
▪ Application of Remote Sensing techniques for drought monitoring
Contributions should be prepared following the template available here, and submitted via EasyChair.
The accepted authors will be asked to present their contributions live during the Symposium. Additional details on the oral presentation format will be available closer to the event.

Technical sessions details
Each technical presentation will last around 12 min + 3 min Q&A. The presenting author will be asked to share the screen.
Proceedings
All the contributions will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee, and will be published in the Publications of the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences.
